FAQ POWDER BROWS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q What is powder brows?
Powder brows is an eyebrow tattoo with a soft, powder finish.

Q Is powder brows painful? The pain is minimal and very tolerable. We also use topical anesthetics for our clients to have a comfortable experience

Q Is powder brows safe? Yes it is very safe. We use pre-sterilized and disposable needles and equipment for every customer to ensure that there is no cross-contamination

Q How are powder brows different than a normal eyebrow tattoo? The finish of powder brows is soft, making it look more natural and subtle than the old style of eyebrow tattooing which looks very harsh and strong.

Q How many hours does the procedure take? Best to set aside at least 2 hours to include anesthesia setting, eyebrow shaping and the microblading procedure itself

Q Will there be swelling? There will be some slight swelling and reddening of the skin but this is not very noticeable and will go away quickly after the procedure

Q How long does it take to heal? Superficial healing should take more or less 7-14 days. However, this could differ from person to person. There might be some scabbing within this period. Make sure not pick or remove any of this. You will expect to see the full results after a month.

Q How do I book for an appointment? You can send me a Whatsapp on 066 2155 888 or visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/thebrowerynelspruit/appointments/

Q Do you take credit card and/or check? We only accept cash as of the moment.

Q How do I prepare myself before the procedure? We would prefer if you don't thread, shave or pluck your eyebrows beforehand so we can see it's natural shape. Make sure to also not come in with sunburned and/or peeling skin as this would be very difficult to tattoo on.

Q Will my eyebrows still grow after getting powder brows? Yes of course. Tattooing does not affect hair growth in any way

Q How long does the ink last on the skin? Color retention varies per person. It depends on several factors such as sun exposure and the usage of certain skin care products etc. but if you want to keep the color always looking fresh, a retouch every 2-5 years would be advisable.

Q What color will be used for the ink? Color options will be discussed during consultation prior to the procedure itself. We have a wide range of brow colors to choose from.

Q Will the ink discolor? The intensity of the pigment will fade over time but proper color mixing by the artist should prevent the pigment from discoloring.

Q How long after the initial procedure can I avail my complimentary retouch? We recommend a minimum of 4-6 weeks after the first session to allow the skin to heal completely before another session. Forcing another session before the said period will cause a high risk for scarring.

Q How often do I need to get a retouch? Some people need a retouch to further tweak your eyebrow shape but to maintain the best color of the tattoo, a retouch every 2-5 years is recommended for powder brows

Q Can I still have powder brows done on me if I already have an existing eyebrow tattoo? This depends on how saturated the old eyebrow tattoo is. If it is light enough, we can work over the old tattoo to correct the shape and color. However, you have to keep in mind that there might be some limitations with the results since the artist has to take into consideration the shape and/or color of the previous eyebrow tattoo.

Q Is powder brows safe for people with diabetes/heart disease/epilepsy/pregnant/lactating etc.? This depends on the severity of your condition and your ability to heal but we highly discourage tattoos on pregnant and lactating women. It will be best to consult with your physician before undergoing the procedure

Q Will I still be able to donate blood? According to Red Cross Philippines, “As long as the tattooing procedure was done aseptically (in a sterile manner), he/ she may donate blood one year after the procedure. This is the same with ear piercing, acupuncture, and other procedures involving needles.”

Q Is there anything I can’t do after the procedure? We recommend not to let your eyebrows get in contact with water within the first 24 hours after the procedure. It would also be best to restrict sun exposure, swimming and excessive sweating while your eyebrows are still healing since these could dramatically affect the retention of the pigment in the skin.
